I started this painting in 2021, in the midst of a spiritual awakening.
Thinking I had found the answers, I based this painting on the story of the card "Parvati" from "The Yogic Path" Oracle Deck by Sahara Rose.
As the story goes for that card, Parvati was in love with Shiva, but he was too interested in his own path to pay any attention to her. Frustrated, she finally shifted her energy and began to work on herself. When she did that, he felt her strong presence and came to her.
I sat with this idea the past four years, unable to complete the painting.
It finally came to me. I was focusing on the wrong outcome. We seek enlightenment to find peace!! When I could really see it is when I could finish the painting. In the end, it doesn't matter if your "Shiva" comes to you or not. Or perhaps your "Shiva" is not who you expect. What's important is that you step into the highest version of yourself, filled with love, joy, compassion and peace.
This painting is 48"x36", Acrylic on 2" Cradled Claybord. Created in my studio in Los Angeles, California, started in 2021 and finished in 2025!
