"Yemaya" Mixed Media on Cradled Claybord | 24"x18" |
"Yemaya" is the "Mother of the Ocean" and is one of the Orishas in the Yoruba culture. She is associated with the stars and the moon, she wears skirts of blue, and as a Mother Goddess, she is protective of all children. She represents home, fertility, love and family. I've included a video about the process of creating her tail. After I received the message in meditation that she would have a white tail, I went running to the nearest art store to Palm Springs, and found the perfect iridescent white art paper! Pure Magic.
24"x18", Acrylic and Fine Art Paper with a UV Gloss finish on 3/4" cradled Ampersand Claybord. Painted in February, 2021 in Palm Springs, CA.
